Three sent to hopsital after head on collision Thursday

Three people were sent to the hospital after a head-on, two-car accident Thursday afternoon on state Route 109 near Burrows Road, according to the State Patrol.

Aberdeen resident Erica J Yant, 42, was driving a 1988 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on state Route 109 just after 4:30 p.m. when she tried to pass in a no passing zone and struck Elizabeth Forrest’s 1995 Honda Accord head on, according to the State Patrol.

Forrest, 18 of Ocean Shores, was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was in satisfactory condition on Friday.

Two juvenile passengers who were in Forrest’s vehicle during the accident were transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital for undisclosed injuries. Thier conditions were not available because they are minors.

Yant was injured but wasn’t taken to the hospital, the State Patrol reported. Both vehicles were totaled and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation, according to the State Patrol.
