Three people were taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital after two vehicles collided on Highway 109 on Sunday afternoon, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.
Donna Pirana, 70, from Hoquiam, was driving northbound on the highway when she ran her sedan into the rear of Michael Rurup’s car. Rurup and his passenger, Lola Rurup, both 65 and from Roy, had stopped behind a dump truck that was waiting to make a left turn off the highway when the collision occurred. The crash was about 13 miles northwest of Hoquiam, the report said.
All three people involved were wearing their seatbelts. Pirana will likely be charged with negligent driving in the second degree, the Patrol report says.
