Kimberly Wolfe, a 2011 Aberdeen High School graduate, was named Miss Whatcom County and will compete in the Miss Washington Pageant at Renton in July.
Wolfe, 21, a senior at Western Washington University, won the talent, interview and community service awards at the pageant held last week. Her talent was tap dancing. Her pageant platform is about bone marrow donation registration and for the past five years she has worked for Be The Match, a national bone marrow registry program. She won $4,350 in scholarship awards.
Wolfe is the daughter of Melissa and Joe Wolfe of Aberdeen. After graduation, she plans to attend a graduate school to work toward a master’s degree in teaching, probably starting in the fall.
Wolfe was runner-up for Miss Whatcom County last year. The state pageant, part of the Miss America pageant program, is July 2-3 at Renton.
