Westport: Holiday Market thru Dec. 14

Supporting local businesses is great but challenge yourself to purchase something locally made this gift-giving season. Craft bazaars abound this time of year and with a little looking (find: bazaar section in the A section).

In addition to bazaars, the local art associations — and it seems each town has one — are peddling their wares.

You never know what kind of funky unique gift you might find for that hard-to-buy-for person.

Currently happening, is the South Beach Art Association’s Holiday Market at 188 Ocean Ave. in Westport each day through Dec. 14.

Each day the market will open at 10 a.m. and will stay open until 4 p.m., with the exception of this Wednesday, when it will stay open until 8 p.m.

The Holiday Market features unique local art, painting, pottery, jewelry, fiber arts, glass, ornaments, food and much more.

Enter to win

To sweeten that holiday pot, if you spend $10 or more the Arts Association is offering a free entry into their daily raffle. Each day they will raffle off an art basket.

They are offering a “grand raffle” which will be held on the last day and will be a cummulative drawing.

The South Beach Arts Association is located in Westport at 188 Ocean Ave.

The SBAA provides many art classes, some free, during the fall, winter and spring.
