No one was injured in a house fire this afternoon in the 600 block of Third Street in Hoquiam, said Hoquiam Fire Chief Paul Dean.
Hoquiam firefighters, as well as three from Aberdeen, were dispatched to Third Street on a report of a strucutre fire around 1 p.m. and arrived to find smoke coming out of the second story of the house, said Dean. No one was at home during the fire and a dog was safely taken out of the residence.
Dean said that the cause of the fire is unknown at this point and that the department is working on finding out how it started. He added that he expects there’s “going to be a lot of damage” to the residence.
The investigation into the fire is continuing.
