The Aberdeen School District will raise the price of lunch 10 cents in the coming school year.
Lunch in pre-school and elementary school will go from $2.30 to $2.40. In secondary schools, the price goes from $2.65 to $2.75.
This is the first increase since 2012.
The overall percentage of Aberdeen district students receiving free or reduced price lunches through government subsidy programs was 71 percent as of May 2014. In the district overall, there are 3,327 students enrolled. Of those, 2,071 are on free lunch and 275 on reduced lunch.
