Would-be burglars smashed a window at the Brady Food Mart early this morning, but were apparently unable to get into the building or take anything, the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office reported.
Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate said deputies responded at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday to a commercial audible burglary alarm at the store. They contacted the owner and found a window had been broken. Surveillance video apparently showed two masked individuals attempting to enter the business, which was closed and unoccupied at the time.
The owner said nothing appeared to have been stolen and the people had not been able to enter the store.
The Sheriff’s Office K-9 team responded but was unable to locate any suspects. Shumate said it is unknown whether the suspects had any vehicle, and no description was available other than that they were wearing masks.
Deputies will be working with the store owner to get copies of the video surveillance to look for more leads.
