Woman escapes police custody, has yet to be recovered

A Grays Harbor woman is at large after she escaped police on Monday while being loaded into a van to be transported to Grays Harbor County Jail, said Aberdeen Police Captain John Green.

Jessica J. Krebs, 23, ran from a corrections officer who was loading her into a jail van to take her from Aberdeen to the county jail on Monday around 6 p.m. The corrections officer unsuccessfully chased after Krebs and fell to the pavement while trying to catch up with her, suffering numerous abrasions, Green reported.

Krebs was arrested on Monday for auto theft and forgery and is now wanted on second-degree escape charges.

Krebs is white, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 129 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes and Green says she frequents homes in the Aberdeen and Hoquiam area.

The public is not asked to approach Krebs if she is seen. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call the non-emergency number at Grays Harbor Communications, (360) 533-8765, of the Aberdeen Police Department at (360) 533-3180.
