The Driftwood Theatre presents “Stage Door,” a play about the trials and tribulations of the lives and interactions of 20 women in the world of acting in 1937.
A quick synopsis –until next week when we have more room to do it justice: The costumes and the on and off of the actors keep you from feeling like the play is three hours long. The dialogue is witty — exactly what you would expect from mostly liberal women living together in a theatrical boarding house.
The show’s director, Kathe Rowe, was excited to be able to use many of the tiny vintage dresses in the theater’s vast collection because the cast included women as young as 14. Don’t be surpised to see familiar faces from last week’s production of “Footloose” – a back-to-back for the young theatrical people in the community. Bravo.
The play begins this weekend with one performance on Saturday at 7:30 and continues for three additional weekends. $15 Driftwood Theatre 120 East Third St, Aberdeen.
