A drug dealer will spend more than a year in prison as a result of a Grays Harbor County Drug Task Force investigation.
Luis A. Garcia-Moreno, 32, of Aberdeen, was sentenced to one year, four months in prison Friday in Grays Harbor Superior Court.
He was initially charged with delivery of methamphetamine and possession of heroin with intent to distribute, but the first charge was ultimately dropped in order to protect the identity of a confidential informant. That informant is currently involved with other investigations.
According to court documents, the informant bought meth from Garcia-Moreno Jan. 22. Another informant contacted DTF in January about buying heroin from an Aberdeen couple.
Later in the month, DTF received information the couple would be going to their supplier to get more heroin. Detectives followed them, stopping them after their purchase. The woman had two baggies containing heroin concealed in her bra, according to court documents.
They agreed to cooperate with police and identified Garcia-Moreno as their supplier. About three ounces each of heroin, cocaine and meth were found in a trailer in the 200 block of West Curtis Street in Aberdeen, identified as one of his residences. At his other residence in the 1000 block of Arthur Street, detectives found a 9mm rifle, ammunition, a disassembled hand gun and drug packaging materials and paraphernalia.
Garcia-Moreno is not a U.S. citizen and will be subject to deportation after his sentence.
