Featured Artist: Roy Lowry
For April, North Beach Artists Guild, a non-profit organization, is featuring watercolorist Roy Lowry. His art is on display at The Gallery of Ocean Shores at 849 Point Brown Avenue, NW, Suites 3 &4, (360) 289-0734.
Lowry moved to Ocean Shores in 2009 to work full time at his art. The Grays Harbor Peninsula and diverse wildlife are said to give him endless inspiration. His wet on wet watercolor technique captures the color and light of ocean scenes, marinas, and wildlife of the area, and his work is collected locally and around the world. Roy teaches weekly watercolor and multimedia art classes.
In 2011, he and other local artists, founded the North Beach Artists Guild and The Galley of Ocean Shores. The group’s goal and purpose for the Guild and Gallery is to bring local artists and artwork together and provide art education to the community through art classes and workshops.
Lowry will be present at the Third Saturday Event on April 19 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be music, refreshments and various artists to meet.
