Alligator found in Ocean Shores

Ocean Shores Police Department officers found a four-foot alligator in the back seat of a car in the 600 block of Ocean Shores Boulevard NW.

The department received multiple tips about the animal and executed a search warrant Wednesday. A 51-year-old Ocean Shores resident was apparently trying to remove the alligator from the area before police arrived. The animal was seized and turned over to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Charges are under review.
