The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 59-year-old Elma man who wandered away from his home yesterday afternoon.
Richard L. Park walked away from his home in the 1900 block of West Star Lake Drive between 3 and 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release. Search and Rescue efforts began after the Sheriff’s Office was contacted at about 10 p.m., and the search continues today.
Family members said because of Park’s brain cancer, his functional age is about 12 years old, and his behavior is similar to that of an Alzheimer’s patient.
Park is described as 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He may be carrying a fishing pole.
