The Aberdeen woman suspected of killing the man she shared a house with had her second appearance in Grays Harbor District Court Wednesday.
Bail was reduced for Leah Dawn Thompson, 45, to $200,000 at her preliminary appearance. She’s charged with second-degree murder in the death of Harold David Crabtree, 63.
Thompson is suspected of stabbing Crabtree to death. She allegedly made incriminating statements, first to a Grays Harbor Communications dispatcher and then to Aberdeen Police officers when they arrived at the scene in the 1400 block of Cherry Street early Saturday morning.
The charge will eventually be re-filed in Superior Court.
“The investigation is still pending, so we’re still waiting for something to come in from law enforcement,” said Grays Harbor Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecutor Katie Svoboda.
Thompson’s next court appearance is scheduled for District Court May 13, but Svoboda added, “My anticipation is at that point we’ll likely be ready to file in Superior Court.”
