Police search for men involved in Aberdeen shooting

An early morning fight at an Aberdeen hotel left one man injured and sent a bullet through a hotel room.

Officers were advised at about 3 a.m. Friday that a fight was in progress at the Travel Lure Motel on Wishkah Street, involving four or five people. While en route, officers were told shots had been fired, Capt. John Green wrote in a press release.

At the hotel, officers found evidence of guns being fired in the parking lot. The victim, a 37-year-old Taholah man, was found inside a room and appeared to have gunshot wounds. Police seized a handgun.

Investigators learned that the man was allegedly shot during the fight in the parking lot. One round was located going through the door of one of the rooms. No one was injured inside.

Police are looking for three men, 17 to 21 years old, possibly Hispanic or Native American, who were at the scene and involved in the fight. They may have other hand guns.

The men were last seen wearing black jackets, black shorts and black baseball-style hats. Officers were told the men fled right after the victim was shot in a 1996 to 1999 Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and alloy wheels.

Friday morning, detectives were still at the hotel processing the scene. Wishkah Street was closed until about 7 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450.
