Oakville robbery suspects identified

Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday arrested one of the men suspected of kicking in the door of an Oakville home and assaulting the residents May 1.

Deputies and officers from the Chehalis Tribal Police located one of the suspects, Derrick D. Klatush, 24, of Oakville, on Balch Road in Oakville, Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Shumate said.

Klatush was arrested and has been charged with attempted robbery, burglary and assault.

He’s suspected of breaking into a home in the 200 block of East Alder Street in Oakville with Leonard M. Young, 28, also of Oakville. Shumate said the men may have been motivated by the residents’ recent casino winnings. They assaulted the man and woman who lived in the home, but fled without taking anything.

A warrant has been issued for Young, described as 5-foot-8, about 190 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked the call the Grays Harbor Communications Center at 360-533-8765 or the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office at 360-249-3711.

Police are also looking into a possible connection to the robbery of a medical marijuana dispensary in April.
