A 69-year-old Humptulips man was killed when his truck went off the road and hit a power pole just east of Aberdeen early this morning.
David G. Hammond was heading eastbound on State Route 12 toward Aberdeen at about 7:20 a.m. Monday when his pickup truck went off the road for unknown reasons and hit the pole. His wife, Joan L. Hammond, also 69, was in the car but was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. No charges have been filed. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected.
