Here are some recommendations from The Daily World for events and activities that would make it worth your while to leave the house.


May 15


Thinking about going back to school? Grays Harbor College has a one-stop-shopping open house planned tonight from 4-7 p.m. on campus. College folk can answer all your questions on credits, requirements, costs, financial aid, schedules — you name it.


May 16-17


What you pay to hear — just one more time — Roy Scheider deadpan “You’re going to need a bigger boat”? Five bucks? Great. Show up at the 7th St. Theatre Friday or Saturday night for “Jaws,” part of the theater’s classic film series. Film at 7:30, doors open at 7 in order to give you time to kill one bag of its famous popcorn and get another in time for the show. http://ift.tt/1qGjaee.


May 16, 17 &18


Last chance to see the Driftwood Players do “The Glass Menagerie.” At the Driftwood Playhouse (corner of Third and I in Aberdeen). Performances Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.


May 17


If you just gotta dance, you could join the Dance Club of Grays Harbor Saturday for refreshments, mixers, dance demos and live music from Michael and Leslie from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Free nightclub, two-step lesson from 7 to 8 p.m. It’s at the Hoquiam Masonic Temple on the corner of 8th and K Street on the second floor. There’s an elevator at the K Street entrance. Admission is $9 for members and $12 for non-members. For information, 360-533-1412.

The Westport Community Garden work party is Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. to weed the bins and prepare soil for planting Any community member is welcome to a community garden spot, first come, first served. Applications at Westport City Hall at $10 per bin per season. Garden is located on the corner N. Montesano Street and E. Pacific Avenue.
