Incumbent Grays Harbor District Court Judge Stephen E. Brown announced that he intends to run for re-election. The 58-year-old is a life-long resident of Grays Harbor, and was first elected to the District Court in 1986.
“I have worked hard to earn your trust and confidence as your judge over the past several years. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve you,” Brown said in a press release.
Brown began his legal career as a Grays Harbor County deputy prosecutor in 1980, after graduating from Elma High School, Stanford University and University of Washington School of Law. In 2010, he was elected president of the Washington State District and Municipal Judges Association.
He is also involved with several community organizations — the Elma McCleary Lions Club, the Elma McCleary Youth Soccer Association and the Dispute Resolution Center for Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.
Brown lives with his wife, Beckie, in Elma. He has twin sons Lucas and Lee and a daughter, Blair.
