Fair continues through Sunday

Thousands attended the Grays Harbor County Fair on its opening day Wednesday to enjoy the rides, the live music, check out livestock exhibitions and to indulge in greasy, fried, fair food. The fair continues through Sunday at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds in Elma.

Fair admission is $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and $6 for students 6 to 17. Children 5 and under are free. On Sunday, get in line early for free admission from 10 to 11 a.m. The Fair also offers a $2 military discount.

Fair admission includes free, general admission seating to live entertainment on the Pepsi stage. This year’s headlining entertainment continues through Saturday with rocker Cody Beebe and The Crooks, local country-rock band Humptulips for a Friday night Barn Dance and Atomic Punks — an award-winning tribute band to Van Halen during the David Lee Roth era.

Grounds and stage acts for this year’s fair include the comedy and stunts of Matt Baker, as well as local and regional entertainment appearing on the QMart and Jodesha stages. In addition, there is the Fair Talent Show, Home Depot Hands-On Workshops for kids and the Youth Livestock Auction. Back by popular demand and appearing daily are the Predators of the Heart. There will also be free car racing on Saturday sponsored by the Grays Harbor Raceway and Pepsi.
