Two Seattle restaurateurs re-opened the doors to the La Vogue Tully’s Friday in Hoquiam.
Now called Cafe La Vogue, the coffee shop still serves Tully’s coffee and an assortment of pastries and sandwiches.
The cafe will be “pretty much similar as that, but we’re just trying to change it up quite frequently,” General Manager Jared Jacobski said.
The shop had been closed for several months after previous owners moved on.
Jacobski said the initial plan is to also offer soup during the day and biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
“If we have new ideas or … we’re getting feedback (our customers) want certain items, we’re going to make that happen,” Jacobski said. “The menu’s not going to get old, we’re going to bring something new every day.”
Jacobski, a former commercial baker and restaurant manager, will contribute to the bakery options. This is the first foray into the cafe business for him and new owners Jason Bryant and Senthil Rengaraj.
Jacobski said they’re all looking forward to making themselves a part of the Harbor community.
“We want to door knock, we want to meet every business owner in town,” he said. “We’re moving out here we’re going to be living out here. … This is a great little town. So far, it’s been a great welcome, everyone’s been super friendly.”
Two employees have been hired locally, and two more were brought in from Seattle. Jacobski said the cafe is currently accepting resumes.
“We feel we’re probably going to add more staff as we go,” he said. “We want to use all local help, for the most part. We feel that’s important. If we need an electrician, we’re hiring local.”
The cafe will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Through August, Jacobski said, grande-sized drinks will be 25 percent off. The cafe will offer senior and military discounts.
“Just come on in and say hi, we’d love to meet everyone in town,” Jacobski said.
