Reward offered for information on hanged dog

Operation Dog Rescue has offered a $300 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the death of a dog found hanged in the 400 block of West 5th Street on Thursday, said Aberdeen Police Capt. John Green.

Green says the case of the dog appears suspicious and still does not know what led to the discovery of the animal.

An Aberdeen Police Officer responded at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning to a report of a dog that was deceased and hanging by a leash around its neck. The leash had been tied to the top of a wooden fence and police believe the dog suffocated, said Green.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at (360) 533-3180 or the Department’s tip line, (360) 538-4450.
